Conor Freeley is a Junior Political Science and Global Security major at Temple. From the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston, MA, Conor first became seriously interested in politics when he sat in the senate gallery at the age of seven. Conor has been a part of the executive board since his second week of Freshman year and is currently a Policy Research Assistant at the Institute for Public Affairs at Temple and a Summer Intern in the Executive Office of the Mayor of Boston. In the winter/spring of 2017, Conor served as a legislative fellow for PA State Rep. Brian Sims, a post he will return to in the fall. In the past, Conor was a Finance intern with Steve Santarserio for Congress (PA-8), a Communications Intern with Brian Gordon for Congress (PA-2), and the SW Boston Field Director for Alex Rhalimi for Sheriff. After graduation, Conor hopes to work on capitol hill and pursue his own elected office. Conor's personal political passions involve human rights, education, and labor relations. Shane is a Senior Political Science and History Major originally from Northeast Philadelphia. Shane's previous political experience includes working for congressman Brendan Boyle on his campaign and in his district office, and more recently for Kevin Boyle on his campaign. Shane was previously the Community Outreach coordinator for the college democrats during his sophomore year, and is looking forward to a great semester and election year. Benjamin Aitoumeziane is a Sophomore Political Science major originally from Rogers, Arkansas. Benjamin joined the group in the fall of his freshman year, joining an exclusive club of members who joined the e-board in their first semester of school. Before college, Benjamin was a leader in the Arkansas Young Democrats and worked to get Young Democrats organized in a traditionally red state. Last fall, he interned on Katie McGinty's senate campaign in the finance office. Since the 2016 election, Benjamin has worked hard to organize with local advocacy groups such as "Tuesday's with Toomey." Tyler is a sophomore political science major from Tacoma, WA. Tyler Joined the College Democrats in the fall of Freshman year and served as the policy director in the spring. In addition to helping out on various TCD-affiliated campaigns, Tyler was elected to be both the membership director of the Temple College Democrats and the Pennsylvania College Democrats. Kelly Anne Young is a junior Tourism & Hospitality management major from Jackson, NJ. Kelly joined the college Democrats in the fall of her sophomore year, right in the heat of the 2016 election season. She served as the deputy events coordinator and then as the communications director, working to create a vibrant social media presence for the group. Kelly is passionate about women's rights and equality, and hopes to see women in more leadership positions across the country. Outside of the group, Kelly is a tour guide in the admissions office. Mike McDermott is a Senior Economics and Spanish major from Ambler, PA. Mike has been assisting the College Democrats in Fundraising since his sophomore year. Mike is currently working for PA State Rep. Brian Sims and in the past has worked for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, State Rep. Todd Stephens, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Mike also spent a summer at the University of Havana, Cuba. Christina is a Sophomore Public Relations and Political Science major originally from Downingtown, PA. Christina joined the e-board in the spring of her freshman year and has since become heavily involved in local politics. Last spring, she worked on the small campaign of Rebecca Rhynhart, the upstart candidate who unseated a machine incumbent for city controller in May. This summer, she is working at a Public Relations firm in Philadelphia so she can fulfill her dream of someday becoming the White House Press Secretary. Christina also participated in the TU Honors Appalachia Trip and is active in many other groups across campus.
